EICR testing in Ravenspark for buyers, homeowners and people planning building work. We test your Ravenspark property's wiring and consumer unit, then explain what the report means before you commit to anything.
The Home Report surveyor looks at the electrics but doesn't test them. An EICR before you buy shows the real condition of the wiring and consumer unit, so you know whether a rewire or new board is likely and can take that into account in your offer.
Planning a new kitchen, extension or loft conversion in Ravenspark? Testing the existing installation first shows whether the board, earthing and circuits can take the extra load. It's far easier to plan upgrades at the start than to find problems halfway through.
On a routine EICR, a sample of sockets and fittings is opened and inspected, while every circuit is tested. Some things, like cables buried in walls, can't be fully seen. These limits are agreed with you and listed on the report, so it's clear what was covered.
Ravenspark is a short distance from our Irvine base. If you're buying, ask the seller or agent for access in good time before the closing date. We'll agree what's to be covered, any limitations and a date, and give you a free quote.
After testing, we go through the results with you in plain terms, including which items are urgent and roughly what putting them right involves. You receive the full written report to share with your solicitor, builder or kitchen fitter.
Tell us what the problem is or what you'd like done. We aim to respond the same day.
We look at the job and give you a free quote, with no obligation and no call-out charge.
We carry out the work, test everything we've worked on and leave you the right certificate for the job.
Only at a general level. The surveyor notes visible issues and the apparent age of the installation, but doesn't test circuits. If the Home Report mentions old wiring or recommends an electrical inspection, an EICR gives you the full picture before you buy.
Yes, with the seller's permission, as we need access and the power will be off for short spells. Arrange it through the selling agent as early as you can. The report then helps you decide whether to go ahead and what work to budget for.
Every circuit is tested, but on a routine inspection a sample of sockets, switches and fittings is opened up and examined. If the sample shows problems, more are checked. The sampling level is recorded on the report so you can see exactly what was done.
It's a sensible step. It shows whether your consumer unit and earthing can take the new circuits, and flags any existing faults that should be fixed first. Your builder and electrician can then plan the work with no surprises once the walls are open.
EICR testing is also available in these neighbouring areas.
